WHAT TO EXPECT

Our Sunday morning service lasts approximately 100 minutes.

The environment of HLBC is casual. So, simply put, come as you are.

Our Sunday Morning corporate worship emphasizes the ordinary means of grace: congregational singing, scripture readings, prayers, confessional readings, and Christ-centered preaching.

We preach the Bible—verse-by-verse and book-by-book. We believe that you’ll find in the pages of Scripture a compelling story that is relevant to your life. You can listen to some of our most recent sermon audio on our Sermons page.

The Bible informs, inspires, and directs our worship when we gather together weekly. Through our music, we labor to accomplish two things: worship the Triune God and encourage one another with the lyrics of the gospel. We see both of these vertical and horizontal dimensions for the church’s musical in Ephesians 5:18–19: “Be filled with the Spirit, addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart.” For that reason, we sing songs that are theologically rich and aesthetically beautiful with the aim of teaching and encouraging one another with the truth of the Scriptures. To live up to these truths we order the music to promote congregational singing, endeavoring to make the main thing we hear on Sunday morning the voices of the congregation, not the musicians leading from the front. Our songs are chosen from modern worship songs and classic hymns and are typically led with piano and acoustic guitar.

We provide free childcare for babies through pre-K where they will learn Bible truths as they play together.
